Rams Notes According to Bernie Miklasz of the Post-Dispatch, the Rams may not end up scrimmaging with the Tennessee Titans this summer after all because it would cost the team close to half a million dollars, including around $300,000 for the charter flight from Wisconsin.
Bernie said that the Rams shouldn't have any problems signing Chris Long and getting him in camp, and the team is making great progress to get a new contract done with Steven Jackson.
The Rams are also making great progress in contract talks with OJ Atogwe and are confident that if he isnt signed by training camp, it will be done early in the season.
I suspect that Torry Holt's subtle putdown of wideout Donnie Avery, the Rams' No. 2 draft pick, has something to do with all of the emphasis Rams coaches, fans and media have placed on wanting to have faster receivers who possess the ability to run for good yardage after the catch. In college, Avery could shake loose and run free. Holt averaged only 2.3 yards after the catch last season, which was the lowest single-season total by a Rams wideout since the team moved here in 1995. Holt is a proud veteran who isn't about to give kudos to a rookie. Not yet, anyway.
