The Rams continued to piece together their 2008 draft class Thursday, agreeing to terms with fourth-round draft choice Keenan Burton on a three-year deal.

Burton became the second receiver the Rams selected in the draft after they moved back into the fourth round via trade with Green Bay. St. Louis selected Burton with the 128th pick overall.

Burton is expected to make an immediate impact for the Rams after an ultra-productive college career at Kentucky . In 45 college games, Burton finished fourth in school history in catches, third in receiving yards, second in touchdowns and third in all purpose yards.

Only a variety of injuries kept Burton from likely landing a spot higher in the draft but the Rams and offensive coordinator Al Saunders have high hopes for the young wide out.

“He fits the mold we have been stressing,” executive Vice President of Player Personnel Billy Devaney said when Burton was drafted. “Now we have some depth at wide out and it has put us in a position where there is going to be great competition once we get to training camp.”

Burton also has experience as a returner and figures into the mix there, also. Burton is the third member of the draft class to sign, following fifth round guard Roy Schuening and third round tackle John Greco.
