I'm not the biggest NBA fan but the Spurs are my team, and when they beat the Lakers last year in the playoffs and went on to their second NBA Title I couldn't have been happier.  The Spurs are a bunch of great guys and to see us beat a dynasty and also a team I just can't stand was great.

When we were up 2-0 in the playoffs against the Lakers this year it looked like we were going to do it again but we simply died and the Lakers took the momentum and ran away with it, you have to tip your hat to that.

To see the Pistons do what they did in the finals though is not only sweet revenge for me as a Spurs fan but as a sports fan who gets sick of the cocky dynasty teams like L.A.

With the exception of the Rams I've never been an L.A. supporter, and while I'm not a Pistons fan it was great to see them pull off the upset.  Nobody gave them a chance, all the Lakers fans were ready to go to the championship parade but it isn't going to happen.

That is what is great about sports, seeing a team of destiny beating a dynasty.  planetrams/happy1.gif

planetrams/whatever.gif This Laker fan didn't have her chickens counted before they hatched, so you can take me out of that group of Laker fans that were already at the parade.

I truly feel immense saddness for Carl Malone, I really feel like the team let him down. I really wanted to see the guy get a championship before he retired, but alas that will not happen and Malone will not be back. sad.gif

Jackson will not be back either, he too will now retire more than likely and with that, Shaq will probably leave the Lakers as well he has said so more than once, "No Jackson, no Shaq." So not only did the Pistons beat a dynasty but they also helped dismantle it as well.

The Lakers will be a new team next year and alot of familiar faces will be gone. So it's not only the Rams that will be slipping into mediocrity but the Lakers as well....think that makes your friend here happy Rams13? planetrams/bawling.gif

I guess I could complain about the lopsided officiating throughout the ENTIRE series but I don't have to do that, ESPN and other media sources did enough of it for me...one quote that will stick with me is "This should go down as the most lopsided officiated finals series in NBA history. Phil Jackson had every right to voice his complaints." Associated Press. Enough said.

John summed it up pretty good with this "The Pistons are just the NBA's Patriots...without the officials help the first time, the Pats would NEVER have been to their first SB, without the officials help the Pats would NEVER have won their first SB title. No difference here with the Pistons."
