Rams rookies, including all of the 2008 draft choices, are in Canton, Ohio, this weekend to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The trip is the result of an interesting initiative launched by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. All NFL rookies are scheduled to visit the Hall of Fame this summer, and will go there as teams.
"The commissioner wants the rookies to know about the league, and its history, and the what they're representing as they begin their careers," said Ray Ogas, the Rams' director of player programs.
In a year in which the Rams drafted defensive end Chris Long with the second overall choice, it's appropriate that the team's rookies will be escorted through the shrine by one of the all-time great defensive ends in franchise history: Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood.
