The St. Louis Rams are coming to Concordia University Wisconsin on July 24, but the team's top marketing officials says he isn't sure himself how many Rams fans will head north to watch their team at summer training camp.

"This is new for us, too," said Adam Jacobs, the team's director of marketing.

"I don't know how feasible it is for fans to be up there," he added. "I don't think the numbers will be earth-shattering."

The Rams selected Concordia in Mequon as their new summer-training camp. Head Coach Scott Linehan and other officials connected with the team's football operations liked the location and the facilities. Concordia was selected over the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, UW-Oshkosh and Western Illinois in Macomb, Ill.

While there are fans all over the country who follow the Rams, the level of interest, especially for summer camp, is nowhere near the adulation the Green Bay Packers get in Wisconsin.

"Our fan base is pretty vast," Jacobs said. "There are pockets of fans across the country. I'm anxious to see how our fans respond."

The Rams' arrival in Mequon means there will be three professional football teams which will have summer camps in Wisconsin. Besides the Green Bay Packers, the Kansas City Chiefs train at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls.

Concordia has two FieldTurf practice areas available for the Rams, as well as a new residence hall.

Concordia officials are still working out how fans can attend the practices.
