Another school shooting, this time in Minnesota. 10 dead including the shooter.
I ask, what the hell is wrong with this generation? Or is our gene pool getting so thin that we can't produce functional human beings anymore.
I'm not trying to be funny here.
I get tired of hearing the excuse of how hard it is to grow up these days. PLEASE give me a break. It's no harder to grow up today than it was for me and those in my generation that was bombarded with daily pictures on television of a war that lasted 20 years, a war that the U.S. wouldn't call a war until it was over, 3 major political/religous asassinations and one attempted asassinations, political scandals, enviornmental issues and disasters (no different than today) blah, blah, blah. I could go on and on. But you didn't see the youth then going around shooting everyone in sight! Instead they used protest as their weapon.
We didn't have the luxuries that the kids today have that are just handed to them, or they think it's their birthright....the computer generation, the cell phones, their own cars as if they were born with one waiting for them, etc. etc. etc.
I had to earn EVERY single thing I got as a kid either by working at home for it or working at a job for it (starting at the age of 13 I was employeed) I had to buy my own clothes, my own supplies for school, had to pay for any and all extra curricular activites at school, etc. etc. etc. Why? Because my parents wanted to teach me responsibility! Imagine that! What a concept!!! (Oh sure there were occassions where they would help me out if needed, but that was rare because I happened to enjoy the fact that I could get something I wanted because I earned it myself and didn't expect it from someone else!)
There is something wrong here and it's sad to see what has become of this generation that is suppose to lead this world in say 10-20 years from now.
Scary thought isn't it?
Just had to rant.
Feel better now.
